About the event

OASIS (Outdoor Adventure Steeped In Story): Storytelling!

OASIS is a fully outdoor, nature immersed opportunity for kids to lead their adventure through exploration and imagination while being supported in social-emotional development and risk assessment. With a focus on Deep Nature Connection and storytelling, kids will play games, wildcraft, sneak, hide, start fires with traditional tools, build forts, share gratitude,  tell stories, scamper up and over downed trees, listen to stories, and whatever else their imaginations create.

OASIS: Storytelling will focus on kids as storytellers. This will include multiple hands-on creative activities that inspire storytelling, including telling and creating stories made in tracks, tracking on the landscape, crafting nature wands and hearing the stories from the natural elements around us, storytelling prompts, imaginative games, sharing thoughts, ideas, and observations, and of course, listening to stories!

The program will culminate in a storytelling show (participation optional)! Kids will have the opportunity to share stories they have been practicing with other participants and their families (family attendance encouraged, but not required). OASIS: Storytelling will also have all the components of a regular OASIS day - playing, exploring, fort building, games, gratitude, climbing, etc.
